Introduction to Reiki Level 3 is a beginning of a new journey, which does not symbolize that you are wiser or enlightened but it simply means that you are now in a position to pass on this gift of healing to others as well. A person seeking this level of certification means that they are more inclined to enhance the life of others as well.

This natural way of healing can be proliferated by understanding the symbols a little more deeply. The only pre-requisite to become a Usui Reiki Master is the desire and interest to help others.

Reiki & Symbolism

The Reiki Attunement Ceremony

This ceremony opens up the natural channels in our body and enables the student to channelize this form of energy. This ability to channel the Chi is permanent and lasts for a lifetime. This ceremony does not turn the student into a healer but instead he/she becomes a vessel for Reiki. The healing is done by the universal life force energy. It makes the student relaxed and is avery straight forward technique to perform. All jewellery, glasses and shoes need to be removed. The student needs to sit on the chair with feet flat on the floor and with the hands in a prayer position. Wear loose fitted clothes and try to avoid junk food and alcohol for at least 24 hours prior to the ceremony. Look forward to this ceremony with an open bent of mind. Keep your doubts and scepticism outside and be fully willing and open to receive the attunement. This technique is 100% natural and safe. The recipient needs to relax, let go and enjoy the experience.

The Crown to Crown Attunement

This is the easiest way to attune another person to Reiki. It is as simple as activating all the symbols and attuning the students to a specific level of Reiki. This then allows the power of wisdom of Reiki to take over, allowing the attunement to run to complete action.

Once you start cultivating the conscious learning of symbols, energies will flow into your crown chakra and cross over to the student’s aura. It will be in harmony and will align to the sole purpose and highest good of the recipient. AT this time, intuition works best to understand how long the crown to crown connection needs to last.

Preparing for the Ceremony

During this ceremony you will come in close contact with your student, touching their hands and shoulders, blowing energy into their chakras, hence it is vitally important to stay clean and smell nice. Make sure to take a shower, apply good smelling perfume or cologne, brush your teeth and if required use a mouth wash.

A straight back chair is also needed for the student to sit down. And position yourself in the centre if doing it for a group of students. Preferably keep the chairs in a back to back position so that the students do not face each other.

Once the ceremony winds up, it is important to share and discuss the experiences of each student within the group. This can be done formally in the classroom or during a breakout session.

Absent/Distant Reiki Attunements

These are as effective as attunements received during a therapy session. It is ideal for people who are unable to travel or attend a workshop or have an urgent desire to become attuned and use Reiki for personal healing. The great thing about this technique is that it is easy to learn and can be performed on any sick person from distance at a deeper level. It helps reinforce the fact that all living beings are interconnected and can communicate at a deeper conscious level. The recipient needs to be in a receptive and eager state to receive the healing.

How to make your Reiki more effective

A higher degree of Rei means more aware, skilful power of healing ability.
